Do you know the safe operation and precautions of Insulation Resistance Multimeter?

Dec. 30, 2019

Insulation Resistance Multimeter: A functional instrument that verifies the quality of electrical equipment, ensures that equipment meets regulations and standards, determines the change in equipment performance over time, and determines the cause of failure. Insulation multimeters are used by technicians to conduct insulation resistance tests on conductors, electrical parts, circuits, and devices to: verify the quality of electrical equipment, ensure that equipment meets regulations and standards, determine the change in equipment performance over time, and determine the cause of failure Functional instrument. Maintenance technicians use insulation resistance testing to minimize the chance of equipment failure or failure and maximize production efficiency. At the same time, it can also prevent dangerous accidents such as electric shock and fire, and protect the personal safety of employees.

As a Hydraulic Jack Manufacturer, share with you the safe operation:

(A) Before the test

1. Work on uncharged circuits as much as possible and use proper locking / tagging procedures

2. Assuming the circuit under test is live, use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety tools.

3. Remove all jewellery and stand on a rubber insulated rafter.

(B) During the test

1. Do not connect insulated utility meters to live conductors or equipment, and strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. Turn off the device under test through an open circuit fuse, switch or circuit breaker. Lock and tag the device under test.

3. Disconnect the branch, ground, and all other equipment from the unit under test.

4. Discharge the conductor capacitance before and after the test.

Precautions:

Maintenance principle:

1. During equipment installation and update

Wiring errors and defective equipment in the system will be avoided, quality installation will be guaranteed, and electric shocks or equipment causing fires will be prevented.

2. Eliminate danger

By performing a test of the insulation resistance between the current-carrying conductor and the ground conductor, maintenance personnel can eliminate the possibility of a dangerous short circuit or a short to ground.

3. Preventive

Routine monitoring of insulation resistance using an insulation multimeter can provide information about the state of insulation degradation and ensure timely repair or replacement of equipment. Our company also has Hydraulic Jack on sale, welcome to consult.
